Message from the 2014-15 Rotary Club of Paso Robles President, Wade Taylor

Greetings Fellow Rotarians:

It's my honor and pleasure to serve as your Club President for the 2014-2015 year, especially in light of the fact that the City of Paso Robles is celebrating its 125th year as our Rotary Club celebrates its 91st year of service to this great community.

As an active member, your service and volunteer spirit shows why our Club has been recognized as being one of the best. I ask that we not rest on laurels, but to strive to improve our service to our community, state, nation and the world.

To accomplish this, there are several goals that I have set forth for the year and I ask for your help in completing them.

1. Encourage every member to seek out qualified potential members and invite them to join us. We must retain our current membership, while attempting to add another 5+% of our total membership. Each Rotarian, as well as our potential members are encouraged to attend our club events and socials and to also support our project and fundraising activities.  “Let's have fun while improving our Club”!

2.  Increase community awareness of our Clubs involvement in Paso Robles as well as the rest of the world.  By having more press releases and public relation opportunities with regards to our service, events, donations and scholarships we sponsor and support.

3.  I encourage a generous response to the Polio Plus Pledge Drive, equivalent to $25 or more per member.

4. Reach our goal of maintaining 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club status.

5. Continue to grow our 2 main premier fund raising events: The Rotary Wine Classic Golf Tournament and Rotary Winemakers' Cookoff as a means to build our scholarship contributions made available to qualified Paso Robles High School graduates to assist with their continuing education expenses (college or vocational).

6. Support and encourage those Rotarians who are interested in volunteering and serving Rotary International Projects.

7. Continue to support our very active Interact Club and its talented student members.

I am truly proud of this club and our members, all who have unique talents and a strong desire to support our community. With everyone's help, this can be a fun and productive year. I encourage all you to volunteer to serve and I look forward to hearing your suggestions and ideas to improve our club and our service to our community and the world.

Let's all embrace and support our 2014-15 Rotary International President Gary C.K. Huang and his Theme “Light Up Rotary".
